Gilgit: In a highly unusual incident, the police team that conducted a raid at City Hospital has been taken into custody — yet the lock on the lockup door where the uniformed officers are being held has reportedly been left open, as clearly visible in circulating photos.

According to details, the ICT (Islamabad Capital Territory) police carried out a raid inside City Hospital to apprehend a suspect. However, during the operation, gunfire broke out, tragically resulting in a female patient being struck by a bullet and losing her life. Following the incident, the police team responsible was arrested.

Reports suggest that while the officers were placed in a holding cell, fellow officers allegedly left the cell's latch open, raising serious concerns about internal accountability and procedural integrity within the police department.
