Dubai Police arrested an Indonesian housemaid on charges of murdering her newborn son by strangling him and hitting him on the head with a metal object before dumping him in the garbage, a newspaper reported on Thursday.
A dustman who was emptying the waste bins in the morning found the baby alive wrapped in a plastic bag after hearing a faint voice coming from the bin.
The cleaner informed the police, who mounted a manhunt for the killer just after the murder in February, ‘Emarat Al Youm’ daily said.

It quoted Major-General Khalil Al Mansouri, Deputy Police Commander-in-Chief for criminal investigation, as saying the maid was arrested this week and that she killed her son after she was impregnated through an affair with an Asian man in Barsha.
“A medical report showed the baby was strangled and hit on the head with a metal object, causing fractures to the skull,” he said.
He said the maid’s boyfriend was also arrested and that the Arab family which had employed her was not involved in the crime as it had not known about her pregnancy and the murder.

The girl told court in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah that her father raped her almost every time her mother went out and that he threatened to kill her if she reported him, the Arabic language daily Alwatan said.

"Finally, she decided to take pills and commit suicide...after she was saved by doctors, she told police that her father raped her for five years.”

Ganguly backs BCCI's stance of not resuming cricketing ties with Pakistan

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly on Tuesday backed BCCI's stance of not resuming bilateral cricketing ties with Pakistan until the cross-border terrorism stops.
PCB had requested its Indian counterpart to host a bilateral series in December this year as per an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two boards comprising five series in eight years till 2023.
BCCI had promised to take up the matter with the government of India but the recent Gurdaspur terror attacks have prompted Board secretary Anurag Thakur to declare that cricket will take a backseat for a while and Ganguly could not agree more.
"I think BCCI is correct in saying that terror will have to completely go before play could happen. Because as human beings we also want terror to completely go," Ganguly told mediapersons.
"So this has always been the case with an India-Pakistan series. As much as we understand that it is entertaining and it is an high-profile series, we cannot take away the sufferings which the people go through at the border especially after what happened in Gurdaspur on Monday," he added.
"This has been going on for a while. When we went to Pakistan in 2004, I was fortunate enough to be the captain of the side and we won the Test and the ODI series, for the first time in Pakistan. That series happened after 15 years," the former captain fondly recollected.
Ganguly, 43, is also hopeful that recently exonerated from the MCOCA charge by a Delhi court, former India medium-pacer Sreesanth will also get relief from BCCI, which has till now refused to revoke his life ban.
"I think he has been cleared by the Delhi court and the BCCI has said that the disciplinary action on him continues. And I believe he has been relieved by the Delhi court of criminal charges. I think the BCCI gives an opportunity to every player to come back and play and I think a dialogue would happen between BCCI and Sreesanth.
"If the board feels that the clearance from the Delhi court is fine, I am sure it will make way for him to come back and play cricket," Ganguly expressed hope.
"The Kerala Cricket Association I believe has supported Sreesanth and requested the BCCI to help him and get back on the path. And that's how it should be. I think in a few months time when the BCCI is convinced that everything is fine and clear, they will let him play," he added.
Being part of the BCCI cricket advisory committee alongside Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman, Ganguly is happy with the recent developments in Indian cricket and said that Ravi Shastri is doing a good job as Team Director.
"At the present moment, he (Shastri) has been asked to continue as Team Director by the board till at least the Sri Lanka tour.
"Even Anurag Thakur has said in an interview that after the Lanka tour, we will sit and find out if we need a coach. Because we have enough people (support staff) in the team. Ravi is the director of the team and I don't see any difference between a Director and a coach," Ganguly's answer was indicative of what his take was regarding this issue.
"So that's the way board has thought about it. With Sanjay (Bangar) and Bharat Arun and the fielding coach, we don't need any more than this at the present moment. I think they were very wise in giving Ravi a full go after he joined the team in England last year, so it's been just one year and why not give him a full go," he added.
Not willing to comment on the IPL mess, Ganguly still believes that the cash-rich league will carry on with eight teams and even more in the future. - PTI

مظفر گڑھ: پاکستان کے صوبہ پنجاب کے جنوبی شہر مظفر گڑھ میں کالعدم تنظیم لشکرِ جھنگوی کے سربراہ ملک اسحاق ، اپنے 2 بیٹوں اور 11 ساتھیوں مبینہ پولیس مقابلے میں ہلاک ہو گئے۔
ڈان نیوز کے مطابق کالعدم تنظیم کے سربراہ ملک اسحاق اور ان کے بیٹوں عثمان اور حق نواز کو اسلحے کی نشاندہی کے لیے مظفرگڑھ لے جایا گیا۔
مظفر گڑھ میں شاہ والا میں پولیس پر دہشت گردوں اور اشتہاریوں نے فائرنگ کی۔
فائرنگ کے تبادلے میں چھ پولیس اہلکار زخمی بھی ہوئے۔
واضح رہے کہ ملک اسحاق اور ان کے دونوں بیٹوں کو ایک ہفتہ قبل کاؤنٹر ٹیررزم ڈپارٹمنٹ (ای ٹی ڈی) نے گرفتار کیا تھا۔
گرفتاری کے بعد تفتیش کے دوران انکشاف ہونے پر مظفر گڑھ میں شاہ والا میں اسلحہ برآمد کرنے کے لیے لے جایا گیا۔
سیکیورٹی ذرائع کا دعویٰ ہے کہ ملک اسحاق کو فرار کروانے کے لیے حملہ کیا گیا مگر اس دوران مبینہ مقابلہ ہوا جس میں عسکریت پسند ہلاک ہوئے جبکہ 6 اہلکار زخمی ہو گئے۔
سی ٹی ڈی کے ترجمان نے بتایا کہ تمام افراد کا تعلق کالعدم لشکر جھنگوی سے تھا اور زیر حراست افراد کو اسلحہ برآمد کرنے کے لیے مظفر گڑھ لے جایا گیا تھا۔
ان کا کہنا تھا کہ پولیس مظفر گڑھ سے نشاندہی کے بعد اسلحہ برآمد کرکے واپس آ رہی تھی، جب 12 سے 15 مسلح افراد موٹر سائیکلوں پر آئے، جو اسلحے کے زور پر ملک اسحاق اور ان کے بیٹوں کو موٹر سائیکلوں پر ساتھ لے جانے کامیاب بھی ہو گئے۔
مبینہ مقابلے کے حوالے سے بتاتے ہوئے ان کا کہنا تھا کہ ان کے فرار ہونے کے بعد کاؤنٹر ٹیررزم پولیس کے مقامی ایس ایچ کو مطلع کیا گیا جو کہ اس وقت اسی علاقے میں گشت پر تھے۔
سی ٹی ڈی ترجمان کے مطابق ایس ایچ او نے مفرور ملزمان کا تعاقب کیا تعاقب کے دوران ہی مقابلہ ہوا جس سے پولیس اہلکار بھی زخمی ہوئے جن کو اسپتال منتقل کیا گیا۔
ہلاکتوں کے حوالے سے انہوں نے بتایا کہ 14 عسکریت پسند مقابلے میں مارے گئے جن میں ملک اسحاق، ان کا نائب غلام رسول شاہ اور دیگر حملہ آور بھی شامل تھے۔
حملہ آوروں سے بھی بڑے پیمانے پر ہتھیار برآمد ہوئے ہیں ، حملے کے حوالے سے تفتیش شروع کر دی گئی ہے۔
تمام ہلاک شدگان کی میتیں پوسٹ مارٹم کے لیے ڈسٹرکٹ ہیڈ کوارٹر اسپتال منتقل کی گئیں جبکہ ملک اسحاق اور ان کے بیٹوں کی لاشیں رحیم یار خان منتقل کی جائیں گی جو ان کا آبائی علاقہ ہے۔
خیال رہے کہ لشکر جھنگوی کو پاکستان کی فرقہ وارانہ طور پر سب سے متشدد تنظیموں میں شمار کیا جاتا تھا جس پر 90 کے عشرے میں دیگر فرقوں کے افراد قتل کرنے کے الزامات ہیں۔
لشکر جھنگوی کا تعلق عالمی شدت پسند تنظیم القاعدہ سے بھی تھا۔
جنرل پرویز مشرف نے 10 سال قبل اپنے دور حکومت میں لشکر جھنگوی پر پابندی عائد کر دی تھی۔
کالعدم لشکر جھنگوی کے سربراہ ملک اسحاق پر قتل کے متعدد مقدمات تھے، ان کو 1997 میں گرفتار کیا گیا تھا البتہ 14 سال جیل میں رہنے کے بعد 2011 میں ان کو جیل سے رہائی مل گئی۔
2011 کے بعد سے ملک اسحاق کو عمومی طور پر نظر بند ہی رکھا گیا۔
2013 میں کوئٹہ میں ہزارہ برادری پر ہونے والے حملوں کے بعد ان کو ایک بار پھر گرفتار کیا گیا۔
یاد رہے کہ ہزارہ برادری پر پہلا حملہ 10 جنوری 2013 میں ہوا تھا جس میں 92 افراد ہلاک ہوئے تھے جبکہ 16 فروری 2013 کو ہونے والے حملے میں 89 افراد مارے گئے تھے، ان حملوں کی ذمہ داری لشکر جھنگوی نے ہی قبول کی تھی۔
ملک اسحاق کو مبینہ طور پر سری لنکا کی ٹیم پر ہونے والے حملے کا ماسٹر مائنڈ بھی مانا جاتا ہے۔
2009 میں سری لنکن ٹیم پر ہونے والے حملے میں 9 کھلاڑی زخمی ہوئے تھے، جبکہ اس میں 8 پاکستانی شہریوں کی ہلاکت ہوئی تھی۔

LeJ chief Malik Ishaq killed in Muzaffargarh police encounter
MUZAFFARGARH: Chief of the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) Maliq Ishaq along with 13 militants were killed in Muzaffargarh on Wednesday during a shootout after gunmen attacked a police convoy and freed him as he was being moved, police said.
According to initial information, LeJ chief Malik Ishaq along with his two sons were being taken by counter terrorism department (CTD) officials to a town of Muzaffargarh where they had seized an arms cache to identify men they had detained on suspicion of being members of Ishaq’s group.
As the police convoy returned in the early hours of Wednesday, a group of men on motorcycles ambushed them near Shahwala Jungle in a bid to release Ishaq. Fourteen suspected militants, including the LeJ chief, were killed in the ensuing gun battle.
Ishaq’s two sons, Usman and Haq Nawaz, Ghulam Rasool of the LeJ and his two sons were also killed. Further, CTD Punjab said six members of the anti-terrorism force (ATF) were also injured in the encounter.

“Twelve to 15 terrorists attacked the police party… freed the accused and fled away on motorcycles,” a police spokesperson, Nabila Ghazanfar, quoted a policemen in the area as saying in a message. Police further along the road attacked the gunmen as they were fleeing, killing Ishaq, his two sons, and 11 others, Ghazanfar cited the policemen as saying in his message.
Ishaq’s postmortem is currently underway at District Headquarters Hospital, Muzaffargarh. The bodies of the dead and the injured officials were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Muzaffargarh. All gates of the hospital were sealed soon after.

“Ten of the 14 militants killed in the encounter belonged to al Qaeda,” a CTD spokesperson told Express News. Further, he said they are seeking NADRA’s help in identifying the deceased.
Ishaq was on a US list of global terrorists and the group he founded has claimed responsibility for the deaths of hundreds of civilians. He has faced several murder trials but always been acquitted after witnesses refused to testify against him.
He was arrested again on Saturday, under a Maintenance of Public Order act, along with his two sons.

Soon after news of the LeJ chief’s death broke, his followers took to the streets of Rahim Yar Khan and attacked police vans.
A demonstration is also reportedly taking place outside Ishaq’s Rahim Yar Khan residence. Further, reports suggest demonstrations are also gathering momentum in Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahwalpur.
In the wake of this, Punjab police has increased security across the province. Further, all processions and gatherings of the Shia community have been requested to be minimised or temporarily suspended for security reasons.

He was someone who commanded respect with his deep knowledge. But in spite of his high intellect, Mr Kalam was soft-spoken, always pictured with a kind smile.
He spearheaded India’s missile development efforts. For 4 decades he played a pivotal role in the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). He also played a major role in the Pokhran-II tests. Scientifically, Mr Kalam put India on the map.
In 2002 he was elected as India’s 11th President. He was an icon who commanded respect from everybody, from across the political spectrum, as signified by the unanimous endorsement of his election by all political parties. In an age of a thousand scams Mr Kalam was the one ray of light for a disillusioned nation. After stepping down as President Mr Kalam wrote extensively on his vision for India, inspiring multitudes of youth along the way.
Today, India lost one of her most influential sons. We have lost a flame that inspired millions with a message of hope and excellence.
“I appeal to political leaders, religious leaders, opinion makers, media personnel and all Indian citizens to place a moratorium on all issues which are impediments to the development for the nation, from now and pledge ourselves to make the missions of developed India a reality.
This will be the greatest legacy that we can proudly leave behind for our next generation. Let us sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow.”

CHITRAL (Dunya News) – More than 300 houses have demolished while at least 14 bodies have been found so far leaving as many as 11 missing bodies.
As many as 3 lac people are restricted to affected areas as land connections to safer parts are lost. At least 25 mosques, several educational institutions are destroyed. Several connective bridges have not been restored until Saturday.
Land connections of Kalash Valley and Ganche to other parts are yet to be restored. As many as nine hydel power houses have been destroyed.
Otol village has been completely washed away by floods.
However, the locals have started reconstruction of houses. Army’s relief and rescue operations are ongoing for past one week. Reportedly, there still are foreign tourists who are yet to be rescued.

چترال (نمائندہ ٹائمز آف چترال) ویسے تو چترال کو پہلےہی آفت زدہ قرار دے دیا گیا ہے۔ اس وقت چترال کو آفات نے جکڑ رکھا ہے، چترال کی وہ خوبصورتی جس کی جگہ جگہ چرچا تھی، اب بالکل ماند پڑگئی ہے۔ چترال ویرانے کا منظر پیش کر رہا ہے۔ بارشوں اور سیلابوں کا سلسلہ رکنے کا نام نہیں لے رہا۔ سڑکیں، پل، بجلی گھر، بجلی کے کھمبےاور پانی کی لائنیں تباہ وبرباد ہوچکی ہیں۔ نہ پانی ہے نا بجلی اور آہستہ آہستہ اشیاء خوردنوش بھی ختم ہورہی ہیں۔
آج بروز جعمہ 24 جولائی 2015 کو چترال کے تقریباً تمام علاقوں میں ایک بار پھر طوفانی بارشیں ہوئی۔ جس کے نتیجے میں دیہات کے اوپر سیلابی پانی داخل ہوگیا۔ اور کئی گھروں کو شدید نقصان پہنچا۔ اور کئی جانیں چلی گئیں۔ موڑکہوں سہت میں ایک بیوہ خاتوں اپنے دوبچوں سمیت سیلاب میں بہہ گئی۔ موڑکہو ہی میں ایک شخص کو سیلاب بہاکر لے گیا۔ موڑ کہو کے سہت گول میں شدید سیلاب آنے سے واریجون کو شدید نقصان پہنچا۔ گھروں، دکانوں اور لکڑی کے کارخانے سمیت فصلوں اور باغات کو بہا کر لے گیا۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق بونی گول، کوشٹ گول، تورکہو شاگرام، گہکیر، لون، ریشن گول، پارپیش ، برنس گول، گرم چشمہ ور لوٹ کوہ کے دیگر مقامات پر سیلاب سے کئی گھر، کھڑی فصلیں اور باغات تباہ ہوگئے۔ مسلسل باروشوں سے مٹی کے بنے گھر کمروز پڑچکے ہیں اور خدشہ کہ اگر بارش کا سلسلہ مزید جاری رہا تو ناقابل تلاقی نقصان پہنچ سکتا ہے۔ ادھر دریائے چترال میں کٹائوں کا سلسلہ جاری ہے۔ مسلسل بارشوں اور ندی نالوں میں طغیانی سے دریائے چترال میں ریکارڈ اضافہ ہوا ہے۔

اسلام آباد: وزیراعظم نواز شریف کے پروٹوکول کے لیے 30کروڑ روپے سے زائد مالیت کی مزید 10نئی گاڑیاں خریدلی گئی ہیں جن میں چھ بی ایم ڈبلیو ایس یو وی جبکہ چار وی آٹھ زید ایکس شامل ہیں اور ہر گاڑی کی قیمت تین کروڑروپے سے زائد ہے ۔
ڈان نیوز کے مطابق اپریل 2015ءمیں 35 قائمہ کمیٹیوں کے چیئرمینوں کیلئے 10 کروڑروپے مالیت کی نئی گاڑیاں خریدنے کی منظوری دی، یعنی بہتی گنگا میں سب ہی ہاتھ دھو رہے ہیں جبکہ گذشتہ سال بھی وزیراعظم کے لئے 12 کروڑ روپے مالیت کی ہائی سیکیورٹی گاڑیاں خریدی گئی تھیںجبکہ ان گاڑیوںکی درآمد پر ٹیکس اور ڈیوٹیاں بھی معاف کردی گئیں۔
دوسری طرف گزشتہ ایک سال کے دوران حکومتی اخراجات سے خزانے کو اربوں روپے کا نقصان اٹھانا پڑا،وزیراعظم کے خصوصی طیارے میں 13 کروڑ 39 لاکھ روپے کا ایندھن خرچ ہواجبکہ صرف وزیراعظم اعظم ہاﺅس کی ریفریشمنٹ کا بل ہی خزانے کے 25 لاکھ روپے ڈکار گیا۔ وزیراعظم آفس نے ایک کروڑ روپے کے تحائف تقسیم کردئیے۔

Seven killed, 26 missing as bus falls into Himachal river
Kullu: At least seven people were killed and 23 others injured when a private tourist bus from Punjab skidded off the road and fell into the swollen Parvati river in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district on Thursday evening, police said.
Twenty-six passengers were still missing and their chances of survival were bleak as the bus was still untraceable and the flow in the river was strong.
Officials said the toll could rise as the bus had 56 passengers -- a majority of them from Punjab's Barnala and Mansa towns who were travelling to a famous Sikh shrine in Manikaran.
The bus met with the accident in Sarsari village on the Bhuntar-Manikaran road, some eight km from Bhuntar, Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kanwar told IANS.
He said seven bodies were fished out.
Official sources said the rescue operation was stopped late in the evening due to darkness and would resume on Friday morning.
"The bus is still untraceable. Most the bodies might be still stuck either in the bus or washed away," he said.
The cause of the accident was yet to be ascertained, he added.
The injured were admitted to government hospitals in Kullu, some 200 km from Shimla. Bus conductor Raj Kumar was among the survivors.
The government has summoned divers of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) to locate the bodies.
Governor Kalyan Singh and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh mourned the deaths.
The chief minister directed the district administration to intensify the search operation, besides providing all possible assistance to the injured.

NEW DELHI: Google has done it again! Not a very long back, Google search had listed Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the ‘Top 10 criminals of the world’ list. The gigantic search engine, striking another controversy has now listed PM Modi in the ‘Most stupid Prime Minister’ in the world.
The embarrassing list also includes Prime Minister , Thailand’s Former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, and British Prime Minister David Cameron among others.
However, we cannot totally blame Google for it as the search algorithm is based entirely on SEO related to the search inquiry.
The Google had however issued an apology last time when it listed the Indian PM amongst top criminals list and fixed the situation.
It would be no surprise to see Google fixing up this blunder too at the earliest but it is certainly gaining a lot of attention of the people as they search for the awkward note on Google.

Which is why, spotting them on railway platforms - which are under constant CCTV surveillance, and secured by the Railway Police Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) — was startling. What is of further concern is that not only were the RPF and GRP personnel present on the platforms, they were also seen interacting with the women.
The reporters discovered that there’s a systematic network in place to keep the operations running smoothly. Besides a group of about seven sex workers, ‘support staff’ tends to hang around the station, keeping a watch out for anyone who might pose a threat. If someone is spotted with a camera or video phone, word spreads, and the group swiftly disperses.
Additionally, auto rickshaws are roped in to provide a quick transport facility. Drivers wait outside the station to take customers to lodges where a deal has already been struck. A commuter, who travels the route daily, said the rickshaw driver not only carries out the task of ferrying but also ensures the safety and timely return of the sex worker. “The drivers are paid per round trip or a night charge according to the business done on a particular night. They also act as bodyguards if a customers harasses the sex worker,” he said, requesting anonymity.

As soon as the clock strikes 11.30 pm, a commuter who travels on the route daily, tells us sex workers aged 20 to 40, pour on to the platform from the skywalk and foot overbridge. When sunday mid-day visited the spot at 11.45 pm, nine women outside the ticket window of platform No 1 (western side) were seen.

This platform is connected to the Santacruz (W) skywalk, making it easier for the group to disperse if a complainant forces the RPF or GRP personnel to act. Since the skywalk doesn’t fall under Railway jurisdiction, no action can be taken by the railway police. A visit to the spot the previous night revealed that there was little chance that railway personnel did not know of the workers’ presence. That night, a group of men were harassing some of the women, who later complained to GRP officials. The officials warned off the men. By this time it was 1.30 am and the two women took a Churchgate-Borivali train back. On Wednesday, the reporters posed as customers to inquire about the business. This is how the conversation unfolded:
SMD: How much will the one in the pink charge?
Sex worker: Rs 1,500.
SMD: Where will the room be?
Sex worker: It’s nearby.
SMD: In the market?
Sex worker: Yes.

SMD: How much do you charge?
Sex worker: Rs 1,000.
SMD: Where will we go?
Sex worker: To a hotel.
SMD: Police ka locha toh nahin hai nah?
Sex worker: Nahin.
SMD: How far is it?
Sex worker: Five minutes.
SMD: Can you charge less?
Sex worker: No. We keep Rs 500, and the hotel takes Rs 500. Here, after 11 pm, the hotels shut shop. Earlier, their rate was Rs 300, now it’s been hiked. Will both of you go?
SMD: Yes, both of us.
Sex worker: It is Rs 1,000 each.
SMD: Koi problem hoga kya?
Sex worker: Nahin, mera toh roj ka dhanda hai.
SMD: We will return in a bit.
Sex worker: Jaldi aneka.
When sunday mid-day returned to the platform, we found the sex workers sitting a few meters away from the desk where GRP officers were on duty. The conversation continued with a different sex worker:
SMD: How much do you charge?
Sex worker: She told you, Rs 1,000.
SMD: Dono ka final bolo.
Sex worker: Arre, yaar. Dono ka Rs 1,000 bhada jayega.
SMD: Till when are you here?
Sex worker: Once I leave with you, I will head home.
SMD: We’ll get back to you in five minutes.
RAILWAYS CLAIMS IGNORANCE
I don’t know if what you are claiming is correct. I will have to check with my local subordinates to establish the authenticity of your investigation. If any such activity is going on at the station, it is the responsibility of the GRP to investigate and take action. RPF will provide assistance, but GRP needs to act.
