Altaf Hussain’s Health Deteriorates in London; MQM Calls for Nation-wide Prayers
Altaf Hussain, the exiled founder of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), has been admitted to a hospital in London due to a serious health issue. The nature of his illness has not been officially disclosed, but MQM sources describe his condition as critical.
In response, the MQM’s Rabita Committee in London has urged party supporters — including women, elders, and youth — to offer special prayers for Hussain’s swift recovery and protection. Once a dominant political force in Karachi, Hyderabad, and other urban centers of Sindh, MQM had been the principal political voice for the Urdu-speaking Muhajir community since its rise to power in the 1980s.
