Rs350 Billion Punjab Investment to Upgrade Railway Lines and Stations
Federal Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, has announced significant upgrades for Pakistan Railways, with the ML-1 (Main Line 1) project designated as a top priority. In a related development, the Punjab government is reportedly set to invest a substantial Rs350 billion towards enhancing the railway infrastructure within the province. This investment will focus on uplifting eight branch lines and introducing free Wi-Fi services at 40 railway stations, aiming to improve passenger experience and operational efficiency. Furthermore, discussions are currently underway with the Sindh government for similar railway upgrades, indicating a broader provincial commitment to railway development.
