Police Busts 4-Member Gang Luring People with Fake Jobs to Steal Kidneys
Rawalpindi Police have arrested a four-member gang allegedly involved in the illegal transplantation of human organs, which they obtained by luring victims with promises of jobs. Police also seized medical equipment used in the transplant procedures.
According to media reports, the Airport Police Station in Rawalpindi apprehended four suspects who revealed they had been selling kidneys to both Pakistani and foreign nationals. Authorities were alerted to the crime after receiving a call on the 15 helpline about screams coming from a house. Upon arrival, police found a person tied to a stretcher and immediately freed him.
The victim's statement, recorded in the police report, revealed that he was enticed with a job offer. The suspects then gave him an intoxicating substance to make him semi-conscious and conducted various medical tests with the intention of harvesting and selling his kidney. Police have identified and arrested the suspects as Akif, Naseem, Rakesh, and Saawan.
