This initiative is part of a broader push to curb violative content across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Between January and March, over 16.5 million videos were taken down across five countries, with Iraq accounting for more than 10 million of those removals.

TikTok demonstrated a strong proactive approach in the UAE, with a 98.2% proactive removal rate, and was able to remove 94% of the violative content within just 24 hours of being posted.
