Murree to Get Direct Glass Train Link to Islamabad Airport

Punjab Government Backs Monorail Project Connecting Murree via Faizabad

Murree may soon be connected directly to Islamabad International Airport via a glass train service, following a consultant’s recommendation to link the proposed monorail through Faizabad.

The project, backed by the Punjab government, envisions a route starting from Lake View Park and the Bhara Kahu bypass, extending up to Murree. An initial feasibility study has already been conducted to support the plan.

According to a pre-feasibility report shared by NESPAK with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the monorail could be integrated with existing metro tracks to ensure smooth and uninterrupted travel. With the support of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, officials believe the project is practical and will provide faster, more convenient access for both tourists and residents.
