Governor Faisal Karim Kundi Directs Emergency Aid for Border-Affected Families in Chitral
On the directives of Faisal Karim Kundi, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa launched a relief operation in Chitral to assist families affected by the recent escalation along the Pak-Afghan border.
A PRCS team reached the Arandu area of Drosh Tehsil in Lower Chitral, where relief supplies were distributed among affected households. The packages included essential food items such as rice, pulses, sugar, tea, and dates, along with kitchen kits to help families manage daily needs during the crisis.
The distribution of relief goods to around 300 families was supervised by PRCS Provincial Secretary Abid Rehman Marwat in the presence of the district administration. Additional Assistant Commissioner Lower Chitral Khalil Ullah also attended the event, along with Director Operations PRCS KP Muhammad Iqbal, District Secretary Lower Dir Muhammad Salam, and District Secretary Chitral Ijaz-ur-Rehman.
During the visit, the PRCS team conveyed the governor’s message of support and assured the affected families that humanitarian assistance would continue. The district administration and local residents appreciated the timely relief effort.
Later, the PRCS delegation visited a camp for Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs), where officials received a briefing on the conditions of displaced families. Abid Rehman Marwat assured the residents that their concerns would be addressed on a priority basis, reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing continued relief and support.
