Police Register Case After Axe Attack Leaves Six Dead in Sargodha Suburb
A horrific incident occurred in Bhagtanwala, a suburban area of Sargodha district, where a man allegedly killed his wife and five children with an axe. After the attack, the suspect reportedly injured himself and was shifted to the hospital in critical condition.
According to police officials, initial reports suggest the suspect doubted his daughter’s character, which led him to allegedly murder his four sons, one daughter, and his wife.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, with the murdered children aged between one and sixteen. Police confirmed that a case has been registered at Bhagtanwala Police Station on the complaint of the victim’s brother.
The FIR states that in Chak No. 25 South, the accused Muhammad Yaseen allegedly attacked his wife and five children with an axe and knife. The complainant, Mansoor Hasnain, claimed that when he arrived at his sister’s house, the door was locked from inside. After climbing the wall to enter, he witnessed his brother-in-law attacking his sister and children.
Police added that the suspect, who injured himself after the killings, has been arrested in wounded condition and is under treatment at the hospital. Further investigation will proceed once his health improves.
