Government Tightens Monitoring as Thousands of Pakistani Visitors Remain in Azerbaijan

ISLAMABAD: Authorities have revealed that approximately 7,000 Pakistani nationals who traveled to Azerbaijan on visit visas have not returned to Pakistan, prompting concerns over visa overstays and irregular migration.

The issue came under discussion during a briefing to a parliamentary committee, where officials informed members that measures are being introduced to enhance the monitoring and tracking of citizens traveling abroad. Authorities said efforts are underway to improve coordination between immigration departments and travel agencies to prevent the misuse of visit visas.

Officials further noted that similar monitoring systems are already being employed in countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey to ensure travelers comply with visa regulations and immigration requirements.
