Flying Coach Carrying Schoolchildren Catches Fire in Upper Chitral

UPPER CHITRAL: A flying coach carrying schoolchildren caught fire while travelling on the Chitral-Shandur Road in Reshun, Upper Chitral. According to initial reports, several schoolchildren were aboard the vehicle when the incident occurred.

Fortunately, no loss of life was reported in the incident, and all the children were safely evacuated from the vehicle. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

Rescue officials reached the scene and assisted in extinguishing the fire. Authorities have not reported any injuries among the children or other passengers.

School van drivers should regularly inspect vehicles, particularly the fuel system, electrical wiring, brakes, tyres and engine, and ensure that a properly maintained fire extinguisher is available inside the vehicle. Drivers should never overload school vans and should immediately stop at a safe location if they notice smoke, a burning smell or any electrical fault. Children should also be taught basic emergency procedures, including how to exit the vehicle quickly and safely.
