PAFLA and NIC Karachi Sign MoU to Promote Entrepreneurship

The Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) and the National Incubation Center (NIC) Karachi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding


KARACHI: The Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) and the National Incubation Center (NIC) Karachi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote entrepreneurship and provide mentorship opportunities to freelancers and startups across Pakistan. The strategic partnership aims to empower young entrepreneurs with guidance, training, and resources to build sustainable businesses in the digital economy.

Under the MoU, PAFLA and NIC Karachi will collaborate on initiatives such as entrepreneurial boot camps, mentorship sessions, capacity-building workshops, and networking events to nurture innovation and business growth. The partnership also seeks to create a bridge between freelancers and emerging startups, enabling knowledge-sharing and access to wider opportunities in both local and global markets.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ibrahim Amin, Chairman of PAFLA, said: "This partnership marks a new chapter for Pakistan’s freelance and entrepreneurial ecosystem. By joining hands with NIC Karachi, we aim to transform freelancers into entrepreneurs and job creators. Our focus is to empower the youth with the right mentorship, tools, and exposure to thrive in today’s competitive digital landscape."


There are over 2.37 freelancers in Pakistan as per estimates which earned over $500 million from foreign clients and millions from local markets.


On the occasion, Azfar Hussain, Director of NIC Karachi, stated: "NIC Karachi has always been committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Pakistan. This collaboration with PAFLA will further strengthen our mission by mentoring freelancers and helping them transition into scalable businesses. Together, we will build a stronger foundation for the future of Pakistan’s economy."


In this connection, the PAFLA and NIC Karachi hosted its first event "From Freelancer to Founder 3.0" in Karachi. Hassan Mujtaba, CEO Arcanum Academy and Sagar Samay, Content Creator and AI Artist shared their valuable experience with freelancers and startups leaders during the session.
