Orakzai Operation: 19 Militants Killed, 11 Security Personnel Martyred in Fierce Encounter
In a fierce intelligence-based operation in Orakzai District, security forces successfully eliminated 19 Indian-backed Khawarij militants. However, the intense exchange of fire also resulted in the martyrdom of 11 brave security personnel, including a Lieutenant Colonel and a Major.
According to ISPR, the operation took place on the night of October 7 and 8, 2025, following credible intelligence about the presence of Indian-sponsored Khawarij elements in the Orakzai District. The timely and effective action by security forces led to the neutralization of 19 militants. Tragically, in the heavy exchange of fire, Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq (39, from Rawalpindi) and his deputy Major Tayyab Rahat (33, also from Rawalpindi), bravely confronted the enemy and embraced martyrdom.
Along with the Lieutenant Colonel and Major, nine other valiant soldiers also sacrificed their lives for the nation. The martyrs include Naib Subedar Azam Gul (Khyber), Naik Adil Hussain (Kurram), Naik Gul Ameer (Tank), Lance Naik Sher Khan (Mardan), Lance Naik Talish Faraz ( Mansehra), Lance Naik Irshad Hussain (Kurram), Sepoy Tufail Khan (Malakand), Sepoy Aqib Ali (Swabi), and Sepoy Muhammad Zahid (Tank). A clearance and sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining hidden terrorists.
ISPR reiterated that Pakistan's security forces are resolute in their commitment to eradicate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country, and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers only strengthen this resolve.
