‘Made in Pakistan’ Fan Found in Indian Seminary Sparks Social Media Debate

A fan bearing the label “Made in Pakistan” found at a madrassa in India reportedly led to police questioning the seminary staff, triggering widespread debate on social media. The incident quickly went viral after a local mechanic shared a photograph of the fan online upon noticing the Pakistani label during repair work.

According to reports, the fan belonged to a madrassa located in the Vishunpura police station area. Investigations later revealed that the item was part of goods donated to the madrassa several years ago. Authorities said the fan had originally been purchased in Saudi Arabia by the son of a local resident, Shamsuddin, who has been living there for the past decade.

Police investigations found that the fan was bought in 2020 for around 80 riyals and shipped to India through cargo services. The family later donated the fan in 2023 to Madrassa Qadria Haqiqatul Uloom. The individuals concerned reportedly provided purchase receipts and supporting documents to the police, who verified the claims and found no evidence of illegal activity before releasing them.

The incident sparked strong reactions online, with many social media users criticizing the response as excessive. Some users accused authorities of promoting unnecessary suspicion and fear over a household appliance carrying a Pakistani manufacturing label.
