Faisalabad Railway Station to Be Upgraded to Modern International Standards

Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has announced that key projects for Pakistan Railways, including digitalization, upgradation, and outsourcing, will be completed this year. He stated that the Faisalabad Railway Station is specifically scheduled to be upgraded to modern international standards within the next 45 days.




Abbasi also highlighted a massive $10 billion project to lay an 850-kilometer track from Kohat to Mazar-i-Sharif, which will be extended by 75 kilometers to Uzbekistan, a move aimed at promoting regional connectivity. He emphasized that both short- and long-term projects are underway to modernize rail operations and improve passenger facilities, in line with the prime minister's vision.


In a push for modernization, the minister shared that WiFi services are being introduced at 40 stations across Punjab. Furthermore, the outsourcing of trains, rest houses, and other facilities will be finalized by September 30. He also noted that the cleanliness system has been modernized and that special saloons are now available for the public at reasonable rates.
