Shockwave in Sindh Police: 58 SHOs Named in Massive Corruption Scandal
A confidential report from the Special Branch has sent a shockwave through the Sindh Police, alleging an unprecedented level of internal corruption. According to Aaj News, the report identifies 132 Karachi police officers and personnel, including a staggering 58 Station House Officers (SHOs), as key facilitators for major criminal gangs operating in the city.
The explosive list, which has been forwarded to the Inspector General of Sindh, exposes how these officers—many holding critical positions in stations like Saddar, Azizabad, and SITE B—are allegedly protecting and profiting from Karachi's most notorious criminal enterprises. The accused officers are believed to be part of an organized network that shields various illicit operations, including the drug and gutka mafia, parking and land grabbers, illegal sand and gravel rings, and extortion rackets.
This systemic corruption is deeply entrenched, with even former SHOs implicated in the alleged misconduct. The focus now shifts to the IG Sindh to see if the department will finally undertake genuine police reform and bring these alleged "facilitators" of crime to justice.
