Government Announces N-15 Highway Linking Mansehra to China Border

New All-Weather Highway Planned to Promote Tourism in Northern Pakistan

N-15 Project to Boost Regional Economy with Resorts and Tourist Facilities

The government has announced the construction of a new N-15 highway that will connect Mansehra to the China border, offering an alternative route to the Karakoram Highway.

The proposed road will pass through Naran, Jalkhad, and Chilas, and is being designed for year-round accessibility to ease travel challenges and encourage winter tourism in Pakistan’s northern areas.

During a meeting of the National Highway Authority (NHA), officials were directed to finalize feasibility and assessment reports. Plans also include the development of resorts, hotels, lake-view points, and shopping areas along the route to enhance tourism infrastructure.

The government has set a target of two years for project completion, aiming to boost both regional tourism and economic activity in the northern belt.
