Severe Floods Cut Off Broghil Valley After Bridge Collapse
Heavy Rains Trigger Devastating Floods in Upper Chitral, Destroy Key Bridge
Heavy rains triggered a devastating flash flood in **Bang Gol, Upper Chitral**, washing away the only bridge connecting **Broghil Valley** to the **Yarkhun Road**. The destruction has completely cut off road access to the remote valley, disrupting transportation and emergency response efforts.
The flood also damaged large areas of agricultural land, forests, orchards, and several houses, causing significant financial losses. Residents are facing severe difficulties as movement in and out of the area has come to a halt.
Local residents have appealed to the government and district authorities to provide an alternative route, launch emergency relief operations, rehabilitate affected families, and conduct a comprehensive assessment of the damage. No casualties have been confirmed so far, while authorities continue to evaluate the extent of the losses.
