A tragic incident occurred in Aliabad, Morkho, Upper Chitral on Eid day, leaving the entire community in grief. Two young sisters, daughters of Yaqub Khan, fell into the river. Sadly, both lost their lives.
According to reports, the body of Maryam, aged 8, was recovered immediately by local residents. However, the search for her younger sister, aged about 6, is still ongoing. Rescue 1122 teams from both Upper and Lower Chitral have been conducting extensive search operations at different points along the Chitral River since yesterday, but the second child has not yet been found.
The heartbreaking tragedy has cast a shadow of sorrow across the region, with every eye filled with tears. The community and rescue teams continue their efforts with prayers for the missing child.
