MQM founder Altaf Hussain has been admitted to a hospital in London after his health deteriorated sharply on Sunday evening. According to party sources, the exiled leader is currently under medical supervision and receiving blood transfusions along with intravenous drips due to severe physical weakness.
Doctors treating Altaf Hussain revealed that his condition is linked to low blood levels, prompting immediate medical intervention upon his arrival at the hospital. A team of specialists is expected to conduct a comprehensive medical assessment to determine the exact cause of his declining health. Initial treatment focused on stabilizing his condition overnight.
MQM leaders have attributed his illness to prolonged mental stress, ongoing legal challenges in the UK, financial difficulties, and continuous political pressure related to Pakistan’s situation. This is not the first time Altaf Hussain has faced serious health issues, as he was hospitalized multiple times in 2025 and previously battled a critical COVID-19 infection in 2021.
Meanwhile, supporters in Karachi and the United Kingdom have organized prayer gatherings for his recovery. The MQM Coordination Committee has appealed to the public to avoid unverified information circulating on social media, assuring that official updates will be shared after detailed medical reports are received.
