Former AKES Educator Successfully Defends Doctoral Thesis on Curriculum Reforms
Chitral-born educationist Noor Shamsudin has successfully defended his PhD dissertation at** Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education, marking a significant academic achievement in the field of education.
His doctoral research focused on curriculum enactment in rural multigrade primary schools in Chitral, Pakistan. The study explored key issues related to policy implementation, teacher agency, and the challenges arising from the gap between centralized curriculum reforms and local educational realities.
Noor Shamsudin is a graduate of the Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development Pakistan, where he completed his Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree. Prior to pursuing his doctorate, he served for more than a decade with the Aga Khan Education Service Pakistan, first as a Lecturer and later as Vice Principal at Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Sherqilla.
His academic interests span curriculum studies, rural education, educational policy, peace education, and educational developments in Central Asia. Colleagues and well-wishers have congratulated him on this milestone, recognizing his contribution to advancing research on education in rural and underserved communities.
